After trying other dating sites with no success, I took time off searching. Then I found out about Christian Connection.

I thought I might as well give them a try with the 3 days free. I liked the site and stayed with it. I had seen Richard's photo but hadn't even looked at his profile because he lives a 6-7 hour car trip away. He hadn't looked at mine for the same reason.

Then friends of mine moved to a town even further away, and as I was discussing with them to come for a visit some time, I thought I might as well look at men over that way. So early February I looked at Richard's profile, I liked what I read, waved at him, he waved back and the next day we talked on the phone.

Distance and a cyclone meant it took 6 weeks before we met in person and that was positive enough to continue the connection. We found we were very much on the same spiritual wavelength, and shared interests in other areas as well. We continued to build friendship, mostly by phone, and taking turns travelling to spend time together. It gradually became clear to both of us that God had brought.

We are soon to get married in my home town, and then I will move to his home. This story might sound ordinary, but it isn't. I am 66 and have never been married before. A previous bad relationship caused me to lose hope and put up barriers, until God started restoring hope. Richard is 70 and has been married before and wasn't at all convinced that he should seek another wife, and joined CC for a bit of fun. So glad he did.
