Living in different countries and having no mutual friends we may well never have met if it wasn't for Christian Connection.

Basically we both joined Christian Connection around the same time and got in contact very quickly. Our first contact was pretty cool...I saw Clive's profile which mentioned his interest in the Middle East so I thought I would drop him a line. Unknown to me, he had already seen my profile and was planning to write to me when he got back from his weekend away (when he plucked up courage, he says!).

We emailed for a couple of months, started speaking on the phone and then eventually arranged a meeting on April 2nd last year. We spent the next 2 days together and really hit it off. However, being very sensible we decided we would take things very slowly. One slight snag to this was that I got offered an excellent contract in Brussels which would have obliged me to stay there another 2 years. Clive's work is pretty specialised and he just wouldn't have been able to find anything which would have meant he could move nearer me. This meant that we ended up only 5 weeks after we met having to make some pretty big decisions. I turned down the contract in Brussels and started looking for work back in UK. Despite living in different countries we then managed to see each other every weekend but one between then and August, when I moved back to England. We made our engagement official on July 9th 2004, 3 and a half months after we met, and got married on Feb 12th this year. It was a dream day and we are having a lovely time together.

So much has happened in such a short time ... we celebrated our 1st anniversary of meeting last Saturday, 7 weeks after we got married!

I wouldn't necessarily recommend the same speed to other people but the one thing I do know is that we really fit together well and are so comfortable together, yet living in different countries and having no mutual friends we may well never have met if it wasn't for Christian Connection. We have really been encouraging our single friends to get pro-active and check out the site. I think it is too easy to sit back and pray for God to send someone to you without ever getting up and having a look for yourself! God is good and you never know who you might run into!
