Jeannie & Martin

Christian Connection is good; and God is even better!
We probably broke all the online dating rules: we made contact on a Saturday morning and by Sunday evening had exchanged phone numbers. Jeannie was on holiday in France but we spoke every evening for a week and agreed to meet at Wisley Gardens on her return. A few more days passed and then we decided to forget that arrangement – Martin bought a plane ticket and flew out to meet Jeannie, arriving on a Friday evening. By Sunday afternoon we were engaged and two days later confirmed our compatibility by driving 8 hours together back to England – without argument! Despite some family and friends’ concerns about the speed of things, we were married within 6 months – just as well; had we delayed then COVID would have postponed the event still further! Being in our 60s, we joked that had we met earlier we might have had children and brought them up perfectly. Well, God has a sense of humour: three years later, we now have three children! ...foster children (something neither of us had ever contemplated). 3 boys help to keep us young, with no fear of getting bored during our retirement.
So persevere: you never know what God may have in store for you...
